In her own words
Why Robyn does this.
“Infant nutrition is my passion and I strongly believe that supporting the feeding dyad is such an important and critical piece to proper health care for infants and caregivers.
I spent about two days a week at the North Simcoe Family Health Team Well Baby Clinic, supporting infants ages 0-3 years. My role was to provide breastfeeding education, along with information on starting solids. I also plotted and interpreted growth charts and developed feeding plans.
There is a significant gap in lactation support in many areas, including the North Simcoe area. If I can provide support, encouragement and specialized care to increase breastfeeding rates or duration I would be thrilled.
I had my first baby just over a year ago and I feel that having personal experience breastfeeding is invaluable. I was so grateful for all the health care and support I received postpartum, it was so needed, even as someone with a healthcare background.”
